Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all that have downloaded my single “Catapult” so far all around the world from iTunes, Amazon and cdbaby.com. I wanted to also mention that I’ve been working on a lot of new music recently and an album feels like it’s coming together. Lots more to come this year! The album is definitely going to be a whole new direction from the last and this time will be entirely produced, recorded and composed by myself.
First UK Gig of 2010

I will be performing at The Old Queens Head in Angel (London) on 4th August 2010 with a brilliant musician and friend from New York Sami Akbari also known as SAMI THE GREAT. There maybe something else coming up in July but if not this will be the first gig in the UK in 2010.
Sami has just released a new EP in the states that should be coming out in the UK soon. She has the voice of an angel, I seriously encourage you to check out her material and of course attend our show. All the details can be found over at the LIVE page. Looking forward to gigging, lots of new material is on the way

Recording Cello for Catapult

On Monday night we recorded the Cello parts for the forthcoming Single Catapult (lucky take 5). We were both really happy with the session and proud of the recording. Can’t wait for everyone to hear the finished track.

June 13th: Unlucky for Some!

It was decided earlier in the weekend that I would do a 5th take of Catapult, dropping the Key and slowing the pace a little, unfortunately I cut my finger on a glass table. I managed to just about play the guitar okay but then my Rode Microphone decided to stop working, knowing that I had the Cello session the next day I improvised and ended up using a Shure Beta 87 and it actually came out sounding sweet! It’s the first time I’ve used a gigging mic for recording in years.

After a night out I decided to record the first draft of Catapult, it’s raw but good, I think! It’s now 12.23am and alarm goes off at 7am, better get to bed!

Just a quick update, recorded a few more takes after work and I’m pretty sure I’ve got it in the bag & kept to my rules, everything so far was recorded in one solid take.
My wonderful friend & amazing Cellist Gemma Kost is recording parts next week. Art 4 the single is currently being dreamed up by the brilliant Paul Righini who is in Perth (Australia) at the moment, he is the man behind the image on the front page and also co-wrote the song “My Story Ending”. Tea time.
THE CATAPULT PROJECT

Hi and welcome to my new site, it’s only been officially live for about 5 hours but I’ve decided to update it already. This is the 3rd official Website I have had and the difference with this one (apart from having full control) is it will contain info on all aspects of what I do, writing for other people, producing, live collaborations, as well as my thoughts on things that interest and excite me.
Since making my album “My Story Ending” I have been getting into a lot of electronic pop music, learning how to use synths, vocoders and generally toying with modern technology, this is the direction I’m heading and I LOVE IT. For my single “Catapult” I have set myself some rules that completely take me out of my recent comfort zone, here are the rules:
NO CLICK TRACK
NO AUTOTUNE
ONLY USE REAL ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENTS
NO EDITS
NO SPECIAL EFFECTS
I start recording this week and hope to stick to my rules, they may sound simple but in 2010 it’s not the norm.
I will be updating my progress on the In the Studio.

Welcome to my new site. I will be updating it lots.
The first single to be released in 2010 will be called Catapult. Here is a video of me playing it live in New York.
